ok, so i’m a year late. i originally made this halloween mix last year and gave it to like… literally about eight people. it was fun to make, but was also kinda time-consuming and tedious and messy to produce the actual covers since it involved a fair amount of spray-mount and orange & black spraypaint. the fumes that were hovering around my apartment kitchen for a few hours that night… consider yourself lucky if you got your hands on an actual physical original. this year i was too busy/lazy to make more of last year’s comp, and i was also equally lazy/busy to attempt a 2007 mix even though i did have a lot of potential inclusions sitting on my hard drive.
therefore, i mp3ed and uploaded last years mix to share with people who missed out. it’s in several parts because mediafire has a limit of 100megs per individual upload. just download it all and drop it into an itunes playlist. the files are all tagged & numbered properly. there’s plenty of interspersed sound effects taken from old thrift store-style spooky “haunted house” records, but i guess if you get sick of those, you could make a playlist that has only the songs. both discs including the sounds, shuffled in a playlist would make a fun halloween party soundtrack though. there’s also artwork included if you’re in a burnin’ & craftin’ mood. forget carving a pumpkin, eat some candy and assemble a cd. (it’ll probably work better if you just print the front & back and put it into a plastic sleeve like a miniature 7″ record, rather than trying to cram it into a jewelcase somehow because it was originally in a paper envelope, not a case).
a lot of stuff on this mix probably isn’t kosher to share so i’m going to only leave it up for a little while… download while you can. note: this is all for fun, and is for haunting use only. not for sale! don’t sue me please!
