“Good music has no color. Good music is good music.” –Kool Herc

I Like Good Music was a weekly radio show I used to do that ran from late 2002 to mid 2005. It broadcast on the internet (and sometimes on the regular airwaves) every wednesday night from 11pm to 1am via killradio.org. it was a lot of fun at the time, but I stopped doing the show for a variety of reasons too boring to go into. i have wanted to possibly resume it some point via podcast right here on chadski.com, but as always, time and laziness have conspired against me.

A lot of the old episodes were archived in one form or another, mostly on cdr and mp3 but a there’s even a fistfull of cassettes too, as you can see. various people have expressed interest in these shows, so I am going to comply and slowly post some of ‘em.

notes:

in reviewing some of these shows, i’m generally happy with the music selection and the overall show (at least when the kill radio equipment is functioning correctly), but i really do hate hearing myself talk… even though i’ve been told i am funny and good at the inbetween bantering bits?

the real main reason I hadn’t ever posted these before on chadski.com wasn’t my flat, nasal voice, but because of the large sizes of the mp3s and not wanting to deal with hosting and bandwidth issues that go along with trying to serve up 20 or so mp3s that are 50-60mb each. recently all these new-fangled free hosting sites like rapidshare, megaupload and so on have popped up so i’ll give it a shot. i decided to go with mediafire because it seemed to be the most hassle-free, as well as the fastest (sendspace is pretty minimal but download times are slooooow). Let me know if any of these sites give a problem and i’ll switch or try to figure something else out.

yes, playlists do exists for these shows. in general, i wrote down what i played for every show (!), and a bunch of them were posted at one time on the old chadski.com site. however, i probably won’t bother reposting them again, mainly out of sheer laziness, but also because i’m not sure how to incorporate it within this blog format without making the page a mess. i do announce during the course of the show what was played, so if you listen and pay attention you can probably figure it out.

enjoy!
